All vehicles over 3 years old are required by law to have an MOT. An annual safety check to verify and ensure all vehicles on the UK roads pass a minimum standard safety and levels of exhaust emissions, the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency.
All MOT tests are conducted by a certified and approved tester and MOT tests can be carried out up to one month prior to the expiry date of a current MOT certificate. An MOT certificate confirms at the time of the test your car met the minimum road safety and environmental standards required by law. It doesn’t mean your car will remain roadworthy for the following 12 months. You still need to make sure you maintain your car well, including regular servicing.
